How did we come to be in Australia?
“Do you believe in fate? I (Helen) think of myself as a rational person who is not really sure that 'fate' exists but one thing for sure is that some things happen for a reason... Earlier this year I received an email from a lingerie entrepreneur in Australia, who is a leader in post breast cancer bra fitting and wanted to fly over to attend my specialist training course in London. I was honoured and delighted - even more so when we met, and instantly hit it off. Since that training course, Gillian Horton and I have spent many hours on early morning or late night zoom calls discussing all things 'bra' and 'bra fitting' related.
We have a shared mission to give more women across the world the 'wow' feeling of getting into the right bra for the first time.
This mission has taken Gillian to places like Fiji, where she selflessly gave up her free time to provide expert bra fittings, and free bras to women in need after breast cancer - while I have been training bra fitters as far afield as Italy, the USA & Africa. We are at the other end of the world from each other, but we are united in our goal and we are super excited to now be joining forces to fill a long-standing gap for expert bra fitting training at affordable prices and in accessible formats for Australian lingerie businesses.

Learn how to offer a professional bra fitting service face to face
Learn how to ‘fit by sight’ without a tape measure as true lingerie experts do
Understand why we fit & the benefits of fitting ‘by sight’
Master the bra fitting process and fitting room etiquette
Start to learn the art of turning a fitting into a (big) sale
Learn how to spot a well and ill fitting bra
Gain important product knowledge to assist in fitting expertly, generating sales & manufacturing/buying bra ranges for your store
Develop bra expertise - understand how bra manufacture & bra sizing works; the origins & history of the bra & breast anatomy, why bras can be expensive and use this to assist in bra selection and develop website copy to drive traffic and conversion
Start to understand how to fit specialist areas – maternity, mastectomy, teen
Observe fitting on a real life model and if you choose to add the follow-up consultation, you can also practise fitting on a model & have the opportunity to be fitted yourself. This includes your model (and you if you choose to be fitted) being seen in your bra by the fitter & seeing models in bras – all in an intimate, professional environment

Follow up zoom consultation and/or assessment & certification: 250 AUD per person
A 1 hour zoom consultation and bra fitting assessment by zoom, after your training course. Ask any questions from our expert trainer, undertake a bra fitting on your model on zoom and receive a certificate as a qualified expert bra fitter.
On receipt of payment we will share the course materials by email in PDF/Word/MP4 format, along with dates and a login for the Zoom Q&A sessions.

The ‘Bra fitting For Women after Breast Cancer’ module is based on our face to face bra fitting training course that is endorsed by Cancer Research UK. The face to face course takes place in London, UK at CRUK headquarters and has now been adapted into a remote course, accessible to bra fitters across the world .
Designed for professional bra fitters who wish to train to offer an expert bra fitting service to women after breast cancer, this course can be completed from anywhere in the world, remotely, in your own time.
This course will enable you to:
Recap on the key principles of expert bra fitting in a ‘standard scenario’
Learn how to adapt the bra fitting process for women during and after breast cancer
Learn how to undertake a bra fitting & follow the step-by-step bra fitting process for women after mastectomy, lumpectomy, reconstruction & with and without a prothesis
Understand the nuances in spotting a well and ill fitting bra for women after breast cancer
Develop post cancer bra fitting expertise - customer service & etiquette in a specialist/sensitive situation; key post breast cancer scenarios (mastectomy, lumpectomy, with & without protheses & reconstructions) and appropriate bras for each scenario & body shape; post breast cancer bra features & components, protheses, balancers and breast forms; ‘standard’ bras that may also be suitable for women after breast cancer
Observe bra fitting on real life models via our bra fitting video
Receive handy reminder checklists & an action plan to follow to embed your training after the course
Complete a post course questionnaire to receive a certificate of completion or add the online assessment below to upgrade to fully certified CRUK endorsed bra fitter status & become a full member of the Better Bras community.
